Manny being Shopped?

(AP PHOTO)

According to a recent article on USATODAY.com by Bob Nightengale, Yankees Brass heading back to drawing board, the Boston Red Sox have offered Manny Ramirez to the New York Mets for Centerfielder Carlos Beltran. ...

Ok, so if the deal goes through, Johnny Damon is definetly gone I guess, unless they are going to pay him 19 mil to play left field. But I mean is Beltran going to give you 45 and 150? No. His contract is only 5 million dollars cheaper than Ramirez, so this can't be about the money (and if i remember correctly, wasn't Beltran signed for 10 years? So are the Sox planning on giving this guy that much money for 9 more years?). It just doesn't make any sense to me. Just keep Manny. He's a headache yes, he doesn't hussle 100 % of the time, and he's aloof in the field, whatever. I know all that. But where else are you going to find a guy who's going to hit .300, hit 45 homers and drive in 150 runs? Where are you going to find a guy to bat behind Ortiz, so that he doesn't get walked each and every time up like Barry Bonds did a couple of years ago? No where. Go after Konerko, go after Glaus, go after Helton, but come on, you are still not going to replace Manny's production in the lineup. Lets just let him play out the rest of his contract, there are only three years remaining. ...

According to Boston Dirt Dogs, former Sox third base coach, Dale Sveum, recently signed on with the Milwakee Brewers to be their third base coach. Alright I guess that is news, hopefully Wendel Kim isn't on the Sox radar again. Good Lord, can the Sox please find someone that knows how to put up a stop sign once in a while...

The Astros defeated the Cardinals tonight behind the brilliant pitching of Roy Oswalt. I know the White Sox WERE hot, but is the long layoff going to affect them come Saturday? I think so. I think Houston's pitching, along with their defense, is just going to be too much for the White Sox. Look for the Killer B's to finally win it all, and then retire, on top, like it should be... Oh yea, and good old friend Roger Clemens will be starting game number one of the World Series.. Roger has started in a World Series game in each of the past three decades... wow...

And to finish off, I would like to give credit to the Joy of Sox creator. He worked extrememly hard on coming up with a list of Red Sox blogs, and I would like him to get the credit for the list that I have posted on the right side of the page. Thanks...

Sorry for the lack of updates lately.. Busy Busy Busy... Sorry again guys..
